thers been an update to the webserver of this domain; another website has been integrated by Shade. its the art contact of his mom 
the deadlinks in the unread post section of the portal will hopefully be fixed sometime soon, just click yourself thru the forums, maybe you find some other intresting threads on your way. on a related note do not link to www.vrn-klan.org or include the WWW in the link. use vrn-klan.org instead or http://vrn-klan.org when you want to access the board or link to it.
also: on saturday 31st of july around 18-19 GMT +1 the webserver will get assigned with new IP addresses meaning the board will not be available at that time. which shouldnt be that bad for you since you dont use it much xD

had to delete all recs in order to solve the problem of records not being saved anymore.
i myself "lost" some good recs as well as many other players, however this is a new chance for everyone to collect some recs, if that is what you wanna be goin for

| Server downgraded + offline |

Server was offline for a while, after they downgraded the server ASC still thinking it's a 15 slot server meant the server crashed constantly until i realised what was going on, i didn't know what time they were downgrading but i knew this would happen, the problem has been fixed so the server is now back online @ 10 players. Enjoy!
I know downgrading sucks, but right now we have to run on other peoples money which for me is embaressing although thanks to maz and ron for their contributions <3.
Once i'm stable i will from now on have at least $50 in the "kitty" so if i ever happen to be in a bad situation you'll have more warning. Thanks for sticking with VRN i seriously appreciate it!

yO! straights and gays, muffys and muggyfaces yo!
the past week ive gone thru the entire bt map repertoire of ut-files. its been quite a lot of work but it definitely was worth it i can tell.. ive come up with 70 maps that i regard as a useful addition to our maplist
some of them are true classics that might have become unseen over the years, some of them are version updates and last but not least a couple of brandnew bunnytracks 
here is the list morfckrs, alphabetical order.
A1ColdFusion - previously taken down but i wonder why, its a big ass science fiction shot in the scene!
AgainstBoss_fix2 - update from fix to fix2, i dont know the exact changes tho i assume they kill the shortcut which itself kills the map.. we can hope for improvement here.
AncienTemple - what do you think this is? xD
ArcaneTemple - the famous dm ground converted into a neat rushmapsorz
ArrowCrypt_fix - the first (at least that i know of) solo map release of former SbT and TDN admin denny. crypt theme.
BigPyramid - and it wont stop for egypt themed maps.. this ones quite nice.
Blearghv4 - update from v3, bloebs infamous map with mainly NW based obstacles.
BonVoyage - the most annoying bt map, made by Sonnet aka Marisa and idiotically hard thus worth a spot in the list
BreakingPoint[NuLL]V2 - one of the very first Null maps, its a classic!
CityIntro][_fix - fixed by me, the trap flags are now uncappable.
ConfrontatioNuLLvF - as you can tell from the name: another null classic.
DeadSpace - a space station themed rushmap.
Ecthelionv2 - update to v2, i dont know the changes in detail, most supposedly some times are less tight.
eEqus - and here we go for another a decent rushmap.
EnemyMine - i cant believe ive added a CN+ map, this one however is actually pretty fun
Fantasy - Lauren the crazy girl from england and Denny created a teleporter nice to look at map,.. centuries ago obviously.
FireHaze's-CTTT - FireHaze is a bt legend, this is a CTTT map made by him.
ForgottenRuinz-v2 - a keymap layed into an ancient theme, map made by safecracker.
Foulness - the predecessor of Awash and Caliban, Kocians map Foulness.
Frigate - a conversion of the assault map frigate into bt; by spiderman.
Frogger-vF - another CN map O_O.. had lots of fun on that one with my man oko.
GearsOfWar_dbl - a space station, warbase and what not themed map made by drunkard macready and his former clanmate relentless (who has been in VRN for a few months btw)
Gerder_House_v1 - the latest Dominic map, taken down before, now back for your quick rushing bunny asses.
GrandCanyon-v3 - if youve played on MOZ in 05, 06 this map evokes some emotion in you.. memories 
Grim-v2 - a nice lil map by bunneh, not overwhelmed by decoration, just plain but interesting bunnytracking.
GuardiaFINAL - another assault conversion into bt, by spiderman of course.
Haven - a true classic by alchemist, his best map in my opinion.
HotInEgypt - egypt maps for the fuckin win, sheep and i spend hours on this oldskool biatch of a map xD
III-MacabreCB - the clanbase version of shadowmans threesome map
III-WarbaseCB - clanbase version of krools 3team map
Intensity - honestly.. i forgot, but it must be decent if on this list.
IsolatedvF2 - "latest" version of that well known map.
Laurensfindingflag - the first map for UN, find your way to the flag.
Lazienka - ehh.. my brain, you know^^
Link'sOdyssey-V2 - what in the hell!?? a great oldskool map. barcode styles but not barcode.
Lunaria - a keymap made by richard, it definitely has its own way of challenging the player, i like it.
NaliStyle! - not much to say bout this classic, made by bt legend blinder.
November - guess who made that conversion? no? yes, spiderman. noobmap but fun to play and in some way bt history.
NuLLedV3-fixed - i havent checked if this is really an update.. anyway one of nulls first maps.
Ocean-Kocian - an ocean installation theme for a keymap by kocian.
Ounokikan_fix1 - if you know kirakisyo, youll have a dejavu.. much easier tho
Phobia-v3 - another oldskool alchemist map, dude is back.. probably doesnt remember me, well: hello alchi^^
PompTraxx-v2 - i must admit i have not tested this new old pomperi map.. lets see.
ProkionTemple-v2 - an ancien temple with a lot of button mechanics. it can be fun every once in a while, finding out shit rules, reminds me of TombRaider.
ReadMe!-v2 - another mapupdate, i HOPE (havent tested) the last obstacle, a gravity zone dodge, is easier now.
Rebirth-v2 - FBT Raylens new bunnytrack map. lets hope it is not that overpacked with trigger sequences.
Ruination - kinda undefineable but nice oldskool map, try it.
SecretBase-v4 - im not entirely sure if this is an update.. anyways a nice little slimey map, schleim schleim (heya KC^^ probably wont read this xD)
ShadowforesT - this oldskool map ressembles a castle complex like AS-Rook.
Somber-vF - latest version of this eccelent klepto rushmap.
Speedrun - show you a zeus map that you dont know? NPz, try this one.
Starship_fix - not sure here as well, anyway great classic piece of bt.
Storm - not bad a bt map. wouldnt know what else to say here.
SubwayCBa - waaaaaaaa how could we have missed this before hahahaaa, legendary but hard as fuck^^
Temple_dbl - anarchist and some dude i forgot team up for this joint, can you spell classic?
Time2Die - lolmap, really not bad, probably unseen so far.
TombDesFra - i know it was me who removed this but i gotta take it all back, its a challenging unique part of bt history, maybe a candidate for the historc mapathon as well. check it out if you dont know it yet.
TopSecret-vDL - gmo, ive been lookin for this for ages.
ToxicFacility-v3 - a challenging concretefactory-style bt map.
Trashv2 - update to v2, dont know bout the changes tho, probably the blue side works now xD
TroubleCB2 - not much to say here, i assume that in the 2nd cb version the last obstacle, swim against the stream and avoid bein spiked, is less hard.
Wondy'sLair - only around 3 textures but still good looking and fun to play!
XAE021-v3 - a true cobra classic. i used to play this for hours on MOZ.. its fun to rush^^
Yoona - new map by chiko, really really nice to play yet challenging
YouAreAnaled_fix - hahahahahahahaaa you know it!
btw, if you notice one map not bein redirected notify me please. ive taken them from the redirected file list however forgot if or which maps i renamed (tag removal etc)

Ok i've not exactly decided how to best describe this, but i definatly need to be playing with you guys more, considering Ron and Maz put forward a lot of money to keep the server running, so it's only fair i get online and see how you guys are.
And what better way than organising an event!
Ok my suggestion is simple, we can't set a date yet but this date needs to be perfect for MOST TIMEZONES (Clearly not all can be catered for).
So this leaves me with a dilema, people are only usually free on weekends, meaning that the most sensible course of action is for a weekend event mid afternoon (4PM BST - (BRITISH SUMMER TIME +1)). Date can't be decided if noone knows about it, so i for now i'd like to know if it's ok for most people to do this event, and yes everyone is welcome!
For the event, well the title is simple, i want BT maps that are OLD CLASSICS, try not to be VERY hard ones, but a couple hard ones are fine, as you can show us newbies how it's done
The rules are simple, 5-10 maps played 10 minutes each NO EXCEPTIONS, once the 10 minutes are up we will move to the next map on the list chosen by us.
So choose a map that YOU like that is old in the BT world!
During this event the UT99 server title will be changed to "VRNS BT HISTORIC MAPS EVENT!"
The server will be downgrading to 10 slots within the next week, please don't worry this is just so the money giving by Ron and Maz will be stretched far enough for me to get back on my feet.

(Historic will focus on maps that you consider to be old in the BT mapping scene, but try not to be overcome with nostalgia when we play a map you've not seen for 2 years).

A1Twod - a pseudo-2D-btmap, i used to hate it however now i think its just wonderful
AncientTomb - an old challenging bt map by basti
BehindtheWaterfall - a keymap by roel placed into a nice waterfall scene
BuriedCityofUrCB2 - finally the latest CB version of the map with some fixes.. i, to be honest, havent noticed any but yoooooooo, thats what will be played in future cups..
CJpwnz - a short jump and rush map.. truly oldschool, made by lt.unreal
EgyptianTemple - a rather ancient map in an ancient egypt environment.
Fracture - a new and hard industry themed map, made by r4m0n
FromHell - imagine youre in strange complex with a slight taste of hell.
FusedRuins - a mapper collective's project of a aztecstyle map involving mappers like knight, cn, spire, magmablaz and many others.
III-Tre-F - the fixed and edited version of shadowman's 3players map tre
III-TripleVisionCB - a conversion of doublevision into a teammap for 3 players.
II-Mindgames - the teammap for egyptianthebeginning.
II-MoonBaseCB - a fixed version for the teammap moonbase, most important fix: no third person perspective in the 3rd room anymore (was kinda unnecessary).
II-Pacey - to be honest a boring but new teammap, created by Safe out of his 1player map Pacey.. no shit?!
II-PowerplantCB2 - finally the first dodge has been made easier. good and challenging teammap still.
InevitableCB - for the current bt open cup; a fixed version of bonkets div3 fun map Inevitable.
KryptonCB - yeah! around the pipes dodge has been made easier, still an awesome div1 tube themed map by klepto.
LavaRafinery - a two sided and fixed version of Richards map LavaF@ctory, renamed in order to avoid confusion with LavaFactory.
MaverickCB - CB version of one of the first bt maps.
Mix - the long awaited (nooot) barcode collage map, made by... barcode of course.
NotWhatItSeems - dont trust your eyes on this oldskool style bt map.
Razerox - a new and easy industry map.
ReadMe! - oldskool alarm over this map.. great however themeless map!
RevolutionCB - you see this update contains many CB version updates to maps. this is the one for Raylens map dedicated to the industrial revolution, div1.
Sector9v2 - an update to donkyz/isotoxin's latest map.
SlaughterEZ - OMG i didnt even think this existed, requested by sheep, the name says it all, an easy version of nulls legendary map Slaughter, go noobs, practise on this version and cap the original damnit!!
SlideBitch - practise some bouncing on this boring map which consists of just 3 gigantic slides.
Snakey - oldskool alarm again! just try it. its a map that got played a lot in 04
TempleofDSI - DSI was a clan of excellent bters, this is their home-map.
TheLostJournalCB - CB version to splashy's awesome water temple!
TheLostOnes - a new egypt themed map (oh no not another.... but its quite nice )
UltimateDuel - one of the few decent CN maps, suggested by sheep. i like it.
UnholyConfessions - booooooooooooring but oldskool, plus ive noticed we had too few naabmaps xD
on a related note the logo can be re-activated

Recently rich has been doing a lot, and a really good job, and me and maz were too lazy to accept his help or new additions Oh well it's done now.
We're moving along nicely, and with this i think it's time to promote rich to full FTP admin with all server admin tools, obviously abuse isn't taken lightly but i doubt he'll abuse. If he does he will be spoken to, 1 warning is what he'll get.
Deleting maps without asking myself or MaZ is not allowed, uploading maps is ok once you know how.
Right, congrats attack, you've earned it! I admit the server is empty, and this is a sad thing to see but at the same time if / when it gets more popular you'll be one of the main server admins. It's been good to see you in VRN stick with us through shit times, i know you're young but i started a server when i was your age and i didn't fail hard.
Plus you can learn some epic admin commands and the FTP management which is fairly simple.
It's probably easier to ask when you've come accross a problem, i'm usually on msn if i'm not at college but leave offline message if i don't answer / not on.
